Formula and assumptions
Each line's amount is quantity times rate. A section's subtotal is the sum of its lines; the estimated project value is the sum of every section.
- Each line's amount is quantity times rate. There is no GST, discount or other adjustment — enter rates the way you want them to appear.
- A section's subtotal is the sum of its lines; the grand total is the sum of every section. Sections with no lines are left out of the abstract.
- Every pre-filled figure is an example, not a market rate.
- Each line's amount is rounded to 2 decimal places (half up). Section subtotals and the grand total are the sum of those rounded amounts, so they add up exactly to the lines shown.

Frequently asked questions
Does this include GST?
No. Enter rates the way you want them to appear; add GST separately if your estimate needs it.
Can I pull quantities from the other Construction calculators?
Not automatically yet. The Concrete, Cement-Sand-Aggregate, Brick / Block, TMT Steel Weight and Tile calculators are all available now: work out a quantity there and type it into a line here. Carrying the quantity across automatically is a planned follow-up.
Can I export to Excel?
Not yet — this tool currently exports a PDF only.
What does "Other" cover?
